Tyler Stevenson

2012-2014: Played professionally for the Major Indoor Soccer League soccer team Syracuse Silver Knights- (now called Utica City FC).

A native of Western New York, Stevenson began his coaching career in 2005 at Washingtonville high school in Orange County, NY, where he served as the varsity boys assistant coach for a year before taking over the varsity program the following year.  After three years as the varsity head coach, Stevenson and his family moved to Utica and he began teaching high school English and coaching at Rome Free Academy.  He was the JV boys coach at RFA from 2010-2017.  In 2018, he moved up to the varsity assistant role at RFA, where he continues to serve.  On the club side, Stevenson has helped coach the boys 2008 team for Coliseum since it was formed in 2014.  He has also coached in a number of soccer camps throughout New York and New Jersey.  

As a player, Stevenson was a standout for section 5 small school power Fillmore, where he was a 4-year varsity player and captain, earning multiple league and county all-star awards, and team MVP.  He went on to play collegiately at Houghton College where he was a 3-year starter for the Highlanders, who were nationally ranked in the NAIA on several occasions throughout his playing career.  Stevenson was named a scholar all-region player his senior year.  

Today, Stevenson resides in New Hartford with his wife Diane–also a coach for Coliseum–and his three children, all of whom are active Coliseum players.
